Consultancy overview

Informed and independent analysis

Our consultancy work is characterised both by its diversity (the differences between tasks) and by its coherence (the common ground uniting our work).

Our work covers a diverse spectrum of areas within the wider private sector development field. We work with clients on, for example, sector development, policy and regulation, financial services, local economic development and the role of membership organisations. We work with a range of bilateral and multilateral donor agencies and with leading contractors and projects. Weve worked in over 30 countries in recent years.

What joins this work together are a number of key qualities. Our analysis is independent and informed, uncluttered by potential conflicts of interest arising from implementation interests. We always seek to balance conceptual rigour with practical how to concerns (development must have a valid intellectual basis and it must work!). And whether for short-term discrete tasks or in longer-term relationships, we apply a common market development framework as the lens for our analysis.

Typically our consultancy work is related to strategic review and planning, project design, evaluation and impact assessment and backstopping support and capacity building.
