On countless mountain climbs and hundreds of thousands of trekking steps through the Himalayas, the Pamirs, the Andes, the Caucasus, the Atlas and the Alps, Sue has had plenty of time to think about the sense and nonsense of mountain tourism. She has definitely lost her heart to the mountains, but fortunately not her mind and over the years she became a sustainable tourism development expert through hands-on experience.

The combination of many years of practical experience in opening new tourism markets and developing new tourism offers for European tour operators combined with her project experience and academic background in international development results in a practical perspective, based on a deep understanding of the sector and its market systems. Her experience enables her to work on projects and other tourism-related initiatives, providing a particularly realistic approach, leading to pragmatic recommendations. More than ever, once in a while she needs to climb high or trek far in order to stay grounded.
