A case study exploring the DFID-funded Propcom initiative’s efforts to increase smallholder farmers’ access to quality fertiliser and agronomic knowledge in Nigeria. The case details interventions made, impact achieved and lessons learned in working with the private sector to innovate and expand a ‘last mile’ distribution model within a challenging operating environment, characterised by distortive public subsidy, political interference and escalating conflict.
