This paper seeks to contribute to a debate in development policy and practice around the meaning of systemic change by revisiting some established frameworks for its articulation. The paper clarifies and deepens the articulation of systems through the market systems diagram, and how they change through the Adopt, Adapt, Expand, Respond framework.
